Planning a Party with Paperless Post

We LOVE Planning Parties. From the invites
all the way down to the decorating, we love
everything about it. This month, every Wednesday
we are going to be sharing the process of our
party planning for an event we have coming up
in September.

So where do we start?
 The invites of course!

Some people can find invitations to be a hassle.
But honestly who can blame them? Finding the perfect one,
or having to design one cause you can't find one.
Then having to get them printed, stuff envelopes,
stamp and mail them. We get it.

Personally, we LOVE designing invitations.
We always do our own, but not having to
get them printed and address every envelope,
then the risk of one getting lost in the mail?
That's why we always use Paperless Post.

It's ECO-Friendly (huge bonus!),
completely customizable, offering your invitations
a super personal and unique look,
and you don't have to worry about
getting out your black book to hand-write
all the addresses. And huge bonus,
you can do it ALL from your desk, with coffee!
No post office lines (yay!)
Design, upload, send!

We love using Illustrator to creat
fun invitations for our events and parties!

I mean seriously, sprinkle lined envelopes?!

Be sure to check out Paperless Post for your
next big party, and stay tuned each Wednesday
for the progress of our planning!

Happy Planning!

Tunesday; Imagine

John Lennon's anthem for world peace
Imagine, seemed to be appropriate for this week's
Tunesday. Listening and relating to it now, when it was
written in a time of social wreckage, seems almost
inconceivable and just downright heartbreaking.
But let us not forget,

"Peace is not something you wishe for;
It's something you make, something you do,
something you are,
and something you give away."

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
and the world will be as one.
-John Lennon

healthy mac & cheese

We're not health nuts, we swear, but who doesn't love
a good substitute recipe to relieve the guilt
of over indulgence? We certainly won't pass on that!

Today's guiltless recipe: Mac & Cheese!
as seen on A Pinch of Yum
We were a little skeptical when we heard
"healthy mac & cheese". Not possibly we said,
but we were wrong! It's as good as the real thing,
if not, better!

You will need:

  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni -
  •  you  can use whole wheat, gluten free... any will work!
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 butternut squash about 4-5 cups cubed
  • 5 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • ¾ cup milk - We used Cashew Milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ⅔ cup shredded cheese-any kind
  • Parsley for garnish
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

To Make:
as seen on A Pinch of Yum!

1.    Cook the macaroni according to package directions.
Drain and set aside. Heat the butter in a large skillet over
medium low heat. Cut the onion into thin rings and add to
the butter in the pan, sauteing over low heat until fragrant
 and golden, about 20 minutes.

2.    Meanwhile, remove the skin and the seeds
from the squash. Cut the flesh into small cubes. Bring the
broth to a boil and add the squash. Cook for 5-7 minutes or
until fork tender. Drain, reserving ½ cup broth, and transfer squash
to the blender. Add the onions, milk, salt, and reserved broth
and puree until completely smooth and creamy. This should yield about 4 cups sauce.

3.    Pour the pureed sauce over the cooked noodles and add the
shredded cheese. Stir to melt the cheese; add water or milk to
adjust consistency as needed. Serve with parsley, salt, and pepper to taste.

Enjoy Guiltlessly!

Tunesday; The Revivalists

Best known for their hit single; Wish I Knew You,
The Revivalists have been one of our favorite
soulful rock bands since we first heard their single
Soulfight back in 2015 (link to post).
Their unique sound immediately gained our interest,
and we found ourselves completely obsessed.
The 7-piece New Orleans root band
is making their way to St. Louis this September,
but we are excited to be catching them at
Pilgrimage Festival in Franklin Tennessee!

Happy Tunesday!
