lipstick DIY

Recently, we have found ourselves on a bit of a lipstick binge; there are just so many new colors to try! Even though we are drowning in tubes of it, we still just can't find that color. So, we decided to create our own. This DIY is an easy way to create and experiment with all different kinds of colors without committing to a pricey name brand.

you will need:
1. a clean container
2. vasoline
3. a blush or eyeshadow of you color choice
4. a mixing tool

how to make:
First, we took the vasoline and filled our container. If you want to experiment with some colors before committing to using your container, you can also use a mixing palette before. Next, we took our blush and crushed into a fine powder.  After dumping the contents in the container we stirred the vaseline and powder until blended. You will want to mix untill you have a smooth and consistent color.  If you wish to make your lipstick more solid, there is the option to heat your mixture in the microwave for about 20 seconds, and then letting it cool.

Alternate ideas:

For this project, we also tried mixing our colors with chapstick to get a more solid mixture.

  1. I made my favorite color of lipstick by doing this! Except I used a pot of lip balm and used that as the container.
